Which countries have nuclear weapons?

Forces are a lot more powerful today due to nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons have made the country’s defense stronger. However, these weapons are a great threat to humanity. Well, in this post we will tell you which countries have nuclear weapons? There are a total of nine nations with nuclear weapons, so let’s take a look at them.

1. United States of America

The United States of America is the first nation. Out of anxiety that Nazi Germany would make nuclear weapons first, the United States created the first nuclear weapons amid World War II in collaboration with the United Kingdom and Canada as part of the Manhattan Project. The United States is still the only nation to have used nuclear weapons in a war, which it did in 1945 when it bombed the cities of Japan; Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Today, the US has more than 7000 nuclear weapons.

2. Russia

The next country is Russia. So the former Soviet Union was the second nation that made and tested a nuclear weapon

Now what?

After the Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991, the Soviets developed these weapons in order to strike a power balance during the Cold War. The Russian Federation now has official possession of Soviet armaments. Their nuclear weapons arsenal is sent to number about 7,000 weapons. Total sub around the same as the United States.

3. United Kingdom

After the US and the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom is the 3rd country in the world to make and test nuclear weapons. Its strategy was motivated by a desire to keep its status as a significant power while also providing a deterrent against the Soviet Union. Currently, they have about 215 nuclear weapons.

4. France

In 1960, France conducted its first nuclear test, based largely on its own work and research. During the post-colonial Cold War, it was encouraged to become a nuclear state in order to maintain great power status with the United Kingdom. The current number of nuclear weapons that they have is 300. France has been one of the topmost countries that have urged everyone else on the importance of nuclear deterrence in a highly dangerous world.

5. China

In 1964, China conducted its first nuclear weapons test at the Lochner test site. The weapon was created to serve as a deterrent to both the US and the Soviet Union. China had a fission bomb capable of being loaded onto a nuclear missile two years later. The current number of nuclear weapons that they have is more than 270.

6. India

In 1974, they conducted their first nuclear explosive device test, which prompted Pakistan to intensify work on its secret nuclear weapons program. In May of 1998, India and Pakistan both openly showed their nuclear weapons capacity by conducting a series of tit-for-tat nuclear tests. India currently has more than 130 nuclear weapons.

7. Pakistan

India’s nuclear weapons triggered Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program. Pakistan is thought to have between 130 and 140 nuclear weapons. Pakistan is now building a new delivery mechanism for its nuclear weapons and increasing its nuclear arsenal quicker than any other nation.

8. Israel

Israel has not performed a public nuclear test and does not admit or deny possessing nuclear weapons. They also claim that it will not be the first country in the Middle East to use nuclear weapons. Nonetheless, nuclear weapons are widely assumed to be in Israel’s possession. It’s unclear how many there are. They are thought to have roughly 80 nuclear bombs, according to estimates. And there’s plenty of proof that they do.

9. North Korea

North Korea exploded a device on September 3rd, 2017, causing a magnitude 6.1 tremor, which is consistent with a low-powered thermonuclear detonation. However, scientists recently calculated that North Korea has more than triple the amount of nuclear weapons. As per the  report of  The Washington Post, they currently have 60 nuclear bombs.

  • Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with? I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
